💼✨ Our FHSA 8th grade Business students had an amazing experience today at the EMPOWER Conference and Expo in North Little Rock! They learned from local entrepreneurs, explored career opportunities, and were inspired to think big about their futures. We’re so proud of how our Eagles represented FHSA! 🦅

🎃🏃‍♀️ Costume Fun Run is NEXT Friday! 🏃‍♂️🎉 Don’t forget to register if your child wants to join the fun! Students in grades 6–8 do not need a parent to run with them, but a parent must complete the registration—this serves as their permission slip to participate. 💻 After registering, please don’t forget to submit payment online at schoolcashonline.com. We can’t wait to see all the creative costumes on the course! 👻✨

This week at FHSA...

🏐 That’s a wrap on our Eagle Volleyball season, and what a season it was! 🏐 Our Varsity Lady Eagles battled hard all year and finished as tournament runners-up, showing incredible teamwork and determination! 💛💚 And a huge shoutout to our 4th–5th grade team, who dominated the court and are officially your LRSD 4th/5th Grade Champions after taking down PHE! 🏆🔥 We couldn’t be prouder of all our Lady Eagles—what an amazing season and an even more amazing group of athletes! 💪💛💚

🏐 FHSA Volleyball Update! 🏐 Our JV team soared to a 2nd place finish in the tournament. Way to go, Eagles! 💛💚 Our 4th–5th grade team battled hard in the semifinals and is headed to the Finals at 2:30! Meanwhile, our Varsity Eagles are giving it their all in the championship game vs. Pinnacle View! Let’s go, Eagles! 💪💛💚

✨ Today our FHSA 7th grade students traveled to Northwest Arkansas for a fun-filled and educational adventure! 🎨 They enjoyed a guided tour of Crystal Bridges Museum of American Art as part of our Windgate School Partnership Program. We love providing our students with opportunities to connect art, history, and learning in such an inspiring setting! 💛

Ms. Sellers' 8th grade English students also took their learning to the next level with an in-depth character study of the novel’s major characters. They illustrated each character, selected key quotes to support their analysis, and explored how each person’s choices and relationships shape the story’s powerful themes of identity, loyalty, and belonging. 💭🖊️ From dressing up as Greasers and Socs, to creating poetry and art inspired by “Nothing Gold Can Stay,” these students truly brought literature to life! 🌅💛

Today was a big day for our FHSA 8th grade English students! 🌅📚 To wrap up their novel study of The Outsiders, students came dressed as Greasers or Socs bringing the story to life in the best way! 👕🧥 In the background, you’ll spot their incredible artwork inspired by Robert Frost’s poem “Nothing Gold Can Stay.” After analyzing the poem’s meaning and connecting it to the novel’s central symbol- a sunset- students created their own sunset art pieces and wrote original poems reflecting those themes. ✍️🎨 What a creative and meaningful way to celebrate literature, art, and self-expression! 🌞💛

🎶 Exciting news! 🎶 FHSA’s very own Mrs. Satia Spencer, our amazing elementary music teacher, has been named co-director of the brand-new Arkansas Symphony Orchestra Children’s Choir! 👏 In addition to sharing her love of music with our students each day, Mrs. Spencer will now help lead this incredible new opportunity for young singers across the state. 🌟 The ASO Children’s Choir is open to students in grades 3–6 (ages 8–12), with auditions on October 25 and registration closing October 20. 🌱🥬🍏 Our FHSA 1st grade students had a blast visiting the Oak Forest Community Garden with our amazing partner in education, Apple Seeds! They explored the garden, learned all about fresh produce, and even made their own Groovy Greens Smoothies! 🥤💚

🎨✨ Ms. Mignot’s class is bringing creativity to the classroom! Students are using Crystal Bridges art strategies to integrate art into their Spanish lessons, making language learning more visual, engaging, and inspiring. 💬🖼️
