Graphic from Little Rock School District titled “Optimizing Our Tomorrow: Budget Conversations – Community Meetings.” The top of the image shows the Little Rock School District logo and name over a blue background with charts and data visuals. The graphic explains that the Fiscal Year 2027 budget priorities include spending only the money the District actually has, adjusting staff levels to match student enrollment, cutting overall spending to address long-term budget gaps, building a healthier savings balance for future financial challenges, and protecting programs, people, and resources that matter most to students and classrooms. The graphic invites all community members, especially parents, students, staff, and families, to participate in discussions about the future of the District and its budget. It emphasizes that community feedback is important and reflects the District’s commitment to transparency and listening. The bottom of the graphic lists two community meeting dates: February seventeenth, evening session at five thirty p.m. at Southwest Community Center; and February nineteenth, evening session at five thirty p.m. at Henderson.

🌱 Calling All Garden Friends! 🌱

Spring is quickly approaching, and we are SO excited to get our school gardens growing! 🌸🌼

To get started, we are in need of soil — and quite a bit of it! While soil may be a bit pricey, our garden dreams are BIG. With spring right around the corner, we’re excited to dig in and get our gardens growing! 🌱

Parents and guardians are welcome to donate, and if you know of a nursery, garden center, landscaping company, or store that might be willing to donate soil (or offer a discount), we would be incredibly grateful. 💚

📧 Please email us if you have a lead or know someone who could help: Barbara.Kirkpatrick@lrsd.org

Thank you for supporting our students and helping us grow something amazing together!
🌿 Spring will be here before we know it!

Greetings FHSA Parents, Staff and Community,

We will be forming a team to help build and tend the Forest Heights STEM School Garden. Creating a team will ensure that the school garden will serve the students and families at FHSA for years to come, and it will provide an opportunity for many interested to become involved.

If you are interested in learning more about participating on the garden team, please plan to attend the meeting on Monday, February 2nd at 5:30 in the Cafeteria. That will be a time when you will learn what will be needed for the winter, spring and summer, and understand small (or big!) ways you can help with this effort.

By attending this meeting, you will NOT be making a commitment, yet. The various levels of commitment and tasks needing attention will be broadly outlined during the meeting.

Your students’ school garden will be a learning space with endless possibilities for school use and community engagement, but it takes several people to steward such a project.

We hope to see you on February 2, 2026!
