Tomorrow is our first House meeting and we want all students to wear their House color or their House T-shirt! We will see which House has the most participation!

Attention McDermott Mustang families! The LRSD currently has a surplus of food purchased by TANF funds that must be distributed to families by 9/30. If you are experiencing food insecurity or could use some relief on grocery expenses and you qualify, we can get you help very quickly.

In the spirit of transparency, we wanted to inform you of an incident in a classroom today. A student brought a small kitchen knife to school, which was reported by a classmate who saw it on the ground after it fell from the student’s pants. The teacher promptly alerted administration who confiscated the knife after being alerted by the classmate. While no immediate threat was indicated, we are grateful for the classmate who reported the incident. The student in question will be sanctioned according to the Student Code of Conduct. Parents, please remind your student of the potential danger, and consequences of bringing such items to school. It takes all of us working together to ensure safe campuses and I appreciate the support you provide to McDermott daily. If you have questions, please feel free to contact my office.
