Hello Chicot Cheetahs!
Chicot Elementary will be hosting a school-wide Food Drive from October 28th-November 8th. As a Leader in Me School, we focus on providing our students with leadership skills by teaching our students that they can create change in their own school and community. Each grade level is encouraged to bring donations as listed below:
K- Breakfast items: Cereal, cereal bars, and juice boxes
1st- Canned vegetables
2nd- Pasta- rice, spaghetti, and noodles
3rd- Canned soups, salt
4th-Canned fruit, sugar
5th -Tuna, canned chicken, peanut butter
CBI- pudding snack packs, cake mixes, cooking oil
All the food that we collect will go to the community. Thanksgiving is coming up and we want our community to have food supplies to share with Chicot families. The Change Starts with Us. Great happens here at Chicot Elementary.
Sponsored by Teach Students to Lead Action Team, Shared Leadership Action Team, and The Student Lighthouse Team

Friendly Reminder:
At K-5 dismissal, all car riders must be picked up using the car loop. Only families with early childhood students can pick up from the ECC steps. Please do not move cones to enter the main parking lot. This helps us ensure the safety of all students and families. Thank you for your cooperation!

We love that our amazing scholars demonstrate our S.P.O.T.S. Expectations every day!!!

It's that time of year and Fall Festival is right around the corner. Join us for music, fun, games, and more! Information was sent home earlier this month in your child's blue Chicot Take Home Folder. If you haven't already purchased armbands or snack packs, you can also do this electronically with the link below:

Don't forget, we are also in need of candy donations!
We look forward to seeing you!

Chicot is wild about “The Wild Robot.”
Based on the book by Peter Brown, and in conjunction with the Dreamworks movie release, Chicot students have engaged in a series of educational experiences and activities to promote reading and STEM education. Our incredible Library Media Specialist, Ms. Lowry, crafted and delivered lessons, developed resources for student learning stations, designed a student/family robot STEM challenge, held grade level trivia competitions about the book, and as a culminating activity took six classes of students to enjoy the movie as a result of the student reading competition! WOW! Yesterday, the entire student body participated in a reverse parade to view about 150 robots with their student creator! What a brilliant display by students and staff!
