and creating a Puff Mobile that could travel 6ft via puffs of breath

Well Done Scholars!!!

🚀 Summer learning is in full swing at Chicot Elementary and Early Childhood Center! 📚 Kindergarten through 3rd-grade students are diving into hands-on fun through Project-Based Learning in the school’s 21st Century Program. Over the past few days, students took on the Design Challenge Process, using math skills and real-world materials like straws, index cards, and even Life Savers 🍬 to build creative structures and cars. Working in teams, they brainstormed, built, tested, and improved their designs — all while learning and having a blast! Way to go, Chicot scholars! 💡🔧

🍎 Did you know? Children in NAEYC-accredited early learning programs are nearly twice as likely to be rated “proficient” or “school ready!” That’s why the Little Rock School District’s Early Childhood Program is proud to pursue NAEYC accreditation — raising the bar for kindergarten readiness, educational equity, and lifelong success. ✨ Want your child to start strong? Find more information and enroll today at: https://www.lrsd.org/page/early-childhood.

Our scholars in kindergarten, 1st, 2nd 3rd, really enjoyed going through the Design Challenge Process for the past 2 days!!!

📚 Literacy in Action! The Rotary Club of Little Rock Afterhours continues to champion reading through its ongoing partnership with LRSD. Now in its third year, the program challenged students to read 20 minutes each day—and they rose to the occasion! 👏 Congratulations to our top three schools for total minutes read. 🥇 Mabelvale Elementary – 67,835 minutes 🥈 Chicot Elementary and Early Childhood Center – 64,515 minutes 🥉 Otter Creek Elementary School – 59,398 minutes. What a great Leadership Day! It was wonderful to see our scholars showcase their leadership talents for so many families. Our Cheetahs led the ENTIRE 2.5 hour event which included a welcome wagon, Opening Ceremony, musical and cheer performances, school tours, Student Lighthouse Meeting, reviewing Wildly Important Goals (WIGs), sharing Student Leadership Notebooks, conducting classroom leadership activities, Closing Ceremony and explained how our school helps to develop leadership principles in each and every child. Thank you so much for supporting our school and our scholars.
Tonight we will have Family Leadership Night from 5-7. Hope to see you there!
