It's an exciting day in the world of Community Schools. The City of Little Rock is a grant recipient from the African American Mayors Association. $125,000 will be used to support the following efforts over three years. -Support garden education at Community Schools -Expand FoodCorps at existing and future sites -Support nutrition education including family cooking classes A special thanks to Mayor Scott, Jennifer Glasgow, UAMS School of Public Health, UAMS Culinary Medicine, and FoodCorps for showing the value of this work. This work changes how students and families interact with food while addressing food access. Check out the video! Shout to the families who participated in the cooking class and FoodCorps members who educate students at Chicot, Mabelvale, and Watson Elementary Schools. https://twitter.com/OurMayors/status/1783871153271984303 Thanks!
