7. THE LIBRARY is open for students to use during the school day. A copy of the library procedures was placed in the teacher’s boxes on Tuesday. Starting next week, the library will be open at 8:15 on a first come first serve basis. The max will be 25 students at a time. All students wanting to come from the gym must enter through the cafeteria and must ask the duty teacher for permission. The library staff reserves the right to remove students who are not following procedures. Before school library visits are for returning books, checking out books, and reading and studying.

This is an exciting step forward for our district, and it will streamline the ticketing process for everyone involved. Our FBLA students had their first meeting with 66 members in attendance. Many more have joined! It is sure to be a great year for our award-winning FBLA at PHMS!
6th grade boys will have basketball tryouts after school on Friday, August 30th from 4:00-6:00pm.
Our 7th and 8th grade football players and coaches dressed up today for Well-Dressed Wednesday! Come out to their first game at Scott Field next Tuesday (8/27) at 5:30 and cheer them on! 🏈🏆

8th Graders had a great first week in science! We ended the week with a team project building Toothpick Bridges. Students put on their engineering hats and brainstormed designs and were able to build some nice bridges!

1. FREE PHYSICAL:
LRSD is providing free physicals on Friday August 16th. A bus will take you from PHMS to children’s hospital. Please see one of the coaches to get the forms needed. The deadline for returning the forms will be Wednesday August 14th.
2. PARENT MEETING:
All Sports parent meeting for 7th and 8th graders only including 6th grade pep club will be Tonight at 6:00 in the gym. Information on 6th grade sports will be provided at a later date.

To report your child's absence please call (501)447-3273 prior to noon each day. This does not include tardies or early check-outs. This is a recorded line that is checked daily.
If you receive an automated call from the school indicating an absence, it may be the result of not reporting an absence or an administrative oversight. You are welcome to contact the school to verify.
Check Outs: You have to be listed on the student's approved check-out list, and have a copy of your identification.
To minimize disruptions to the end-of-the-day procedures, students should not be checked-out after 3:15 PM.
