Attention FHSA Families, we will dismiss at 1:30PM today due to severe weather. If tornado alert is activated at dismissal, we will initiate shelter-in-place procedures.

Due to the threat of severe weather moving into our area, LRSD will dismiss school early today, all after-school activities are cancelled, and CARE will be closed. Elementary sites will dismiss at 1:30 p.m., followed by secondary schools at 2:30 p.m. This decision was made in the best interest of students and staff, in consultation with the National Weather Service, LRSD’s Emergency Management and Transportation teams, and surrounding districts. Please note that if tornado sirens are activated during these dismissal times, we will initiate our shelter-in-place procedures, and building doors will be locked until the threat has passed. Thank you for your understanding as we prioritize the safety and well-being of our students and staff. Please stay safe.

Good Morning Parents/Guardians: In light of tomorrow’s weather forecast, all after-school activities scheduled for Wednesday will be canceled out of an abundance of caution. At this time, we are planning to follow our regular dismissal schedule, as we believe students are safest at school under supervision. However, we are closely monitoring conditions and will notify families immediately if there is any change to our dismissal plan. Parents may choose to pick up their child early if they feel it is safest to do so. Please note that if tornado sirens are activated, we will initiate our shelter-in-place procedures, and building doors will be locked until the threat has passed. Please check the LRSD app, text messages, website and social media for updates. Thank you for your understanding as we prioritize the safety and well-being of our students and staff. Event: Discovering Excellence in Arkansas On March 13th, the Museum of Discovery hosted a special evening to honor four Forest Heights talented 6th grade students: David Grigorian, Christian Carl Evans, Molly Nichols, Adeline Parker, and other driven sixth graders from around the state. The selected students demonstrated interest and/or aptitude in STEM. During their event, students were treated to a special dinner where they were introduced to the many STEM career paths available in Arkansas. Scientists from different disciplines set up “stations” of hands-on activities to engage students and were on hand to talk about businesses and careers in STEM.
