This is the enrollment timeline from last year and for this current school year.
Open Enrollment 2026-27
Phase One: November 3-7, 2025
Pre-K, 5th, and 8th rolled up to attendance zone schools for 2026-27
K-11 students rolled up to the current school assignment* for 2026-27
Alternately assigned students rolled up to the attendance zone for 2026-27
Phase Two: November 10 -12, 2025
In-District Transfers / TNT application window opened
This includes magnet/specialty applications for current K-12 students
Phase Three: December 1-19, 2025
New Kindergarten and Pre-K
1-12 grade out-of-district transfers
Parkview Auditions and FHSA document review
January 5-9, 2025 Lottery Runs: Magnet & Specialty
January 12- 16, 2025 Assignment Letters were sent to parents.
Enrolling for the Current Year
To enroll in the Little Rock School District for the current school year:
Gather essential documents. Enrollment is not complete until you submit the documents to Student Registration.
Required documentation includes a birth certificate, Social Security card*, immunization record, proof of residency, and a physical (for kindergarten only).
Apply via SchoolMint - Registration LINK.
You may submit your required documents via SchoolMint or bring them to Student Registration. Your application is not complete until all documents are received.
After you submit your registration request and applicable documents, Student Registration will process the request. You will receive an email and text with your student's assignment and next steps.

Open Enrollment for the 2027-2028 School Year
This is the enrollment timeline for this school year for enrollment the 2027-2028 school year.
Phase One: Current Student Rollup November 2-6, 2026.
Pre-K, 5th, and 8th will roll up to attendance zone schools for 2027-2028
K-11 students will roll up to the current school assignment* for 2027-2028
Alternately assigned students will roll up to the attendance zone for 2027-2028
Phase Two: In-District Magnet Applications - November 9- 20, 2026
Applications for all LRSD Magnet Schools are submitted during this window for current students. This includes document submission for Forest Heights STEM Academy and audition schedules for Parkview Arts and Science Magnet High School
November 30 - December 18: Parkview Auditions and Forest Heights document review for current LRSD students
Phase Three: Arkansas School Choice & Magnet Applications
Arkansas School Choice: January 1 - June 1, 2027
The District will notify applicants and their resident district in writing of the acceptance or rejection decision by July 1.
Magnet Applications can be submitted with AR School Choice Forms from January 1 - 15, 2027.
January 19 -29: Parkview Auditions and Forest Heights document review for prospective LRSD students
Phase Four: Notification
Lottery runs will occur February 1 -5, 2027. Letters will be sent on February 8, 2027, for current and prospective students.
Intra-district (TNT) requests are processed after magnet lotteries. Families will be notified by February 12, 2027.
Arkansas School Choice requests are processed in the order they are received. Parents are notified no later than July 1, 2027.
