Good Afternoon, LRSD Families:
Out of an abundance of caution and after consultation with surrounding districts, LRSD’s Safety and Security team, First Student Transportation, and the National Weather Service, LRSD schools will remain closed on Thursday, January 18, 2024. Building managers and custodians are expected to report to offices and schools at 11 a.m. if safe to do so. This will allow the District to assess the grounds and buildings for the return of students and staff when schools reopen. Our transportation partner, First Student, will also be checking roadways. LRSD administration will assess conditions in the morning and provide advanced notification to building managers and custodians if expectations change before the 11 a.m. reporting time.
All other employees should monitor their emails for additional information from LRSD’s HR team about the ability to work remotely or make arrangements with their supervisors to make up the missed day.
LRSD administration will meet again tomorrow to determine the status of school for Friday, January 19th, and will announce a decision by 3 p.m. Thursday. In making weather-related decisions, the safety of students and staff remains a priority for LRSD.
